Robin Barty King
As a Head of Production Robin believes in co-operation and transparency as key to his success.
He has trained many new staff as well as encouraging existing ones. He has 30 years of television production experience to share.
He has worked for Ch4 (Documentaries), and the BBC (Education) as an advisor. He has worked with many production companies in the UK including Tiger/Aspect, RDF, Hardcash, Arena Transmissions, and Trilion. Programmes he is proud of are Beneath The Veil, The Great Ticket Scandal (Ch4), Foodbank, Gypsy Wars (BBC). Through Hardcash Productions, he has worked on programmes that were awarded two EMMYs, a BAFTA and a Grierson award.
He has also worked abroad (South Africa, and the USA.) and set up the highly acclaimed SPORTAID global tv coverage of the RACE AGAINST TIME. (1986 and 1988).
He was responsible for heading up Prayer for World Peace in 1987.
Robin has a reputation of getting on with almost everyone – client, suppliers and staff.
Keeping the projects on track is his hallmark. He is extremely skilled at budgeting and running projects to deadlines as well as running seminars on TV Production skills on a regular basis.
TRAINING FOR PRODUCTION
He can come to your offices, or work in a separate space. He can work flexible hours with individuals, or small groups.
Robin has lectured at the University of Hertforshsire, the University of Wales, and for BECTU. He has run a production management day for the BBC, and a production course in Hanoi, Vietnam, for young filmmakers.
He also trains staff at Hardcash and Make World.
Media Training can also be arranged – Created for individual need, with camera and feedback.
TELEVISION PRODUCTION
Robin is contracted on a job by job basis to a number of companies working in documentaries, and specialist factual. Providing budgets, schedules and management for broadcast shows such as Dispatches (Ch4), Exposure (ITV) and documentaries for the BBC.
He could work with your production co-ordinator to oversee the production, and help deliver your production on budget and on schedule.
Part-time, or on a consultancy basis, Robin will fit in with your working patterns.
